GS1 India is the official Indian member organisation of GS1 Global. Their codes use the 890 prefix and renew annually, and the year 1 outlay for a 100-barcode pack is materially higher than ours, with a security deposit on top. Our codes are EAN-13 GTINs from a legacy GS1 prefix that was sold before 2002 and can be legally transferred. They cost meaningfully less and never renew, but they are not listed in the GS1 India GEPIR database. Both scan identically on standard retail scanners; the difference is database registration and which retailers require that database lookup.

Yes. Every 13-digit number we issue is unique to your business and is recorded against your name in our internal registry. We do not re-issue a code that has been allocated to another buyer. The codes scan correctly on standard EAN-13 / UPC-A scanners worldwide. The caveat is database registration: they are not in GS1 India's GEPIR, which is why Amazon GTIN-verified categories will not accept them.

No. The GS1 standard, which all marketplaces and retailers apply, is one GTIN per unique trade item. Different size, different colour, different pack-count, different flavour = different GTIN. Using one barcode for several SKUs will be caught at retailer onboarding or at marketplace listing review and the listing will be rejected. If you have 10 SKUs you need 10 codes; we'll quote the right pack size on WhatsApp.

Tell us your retailer on WhatsApp before you buy and we'll confirm in 5 minutes whether our EAN-13 is the right product or whether you need GS1 India. Once we've delivered the right product for the right channel, rejections are rare. If a specific retailer asks in writing for GS1 India registration and you bought EAN-13 from us, the EAN-13 is the wrong product for that channel and we'll help you start a GS1 India registration on our sister page. For sequential brand prefixes that group all your products under one company range, you need GS1 India membership: they issue a Company Prefix and you assign your own product numbers under it. Our codes are issued from a single shared legacy prefix range, so consecutive numbers are not guaranteed.
